I lead the initial leg of this ride, with Craig on the CB radio as my wingman and Bob and Dana as tail gunners.
The radios came in handy throughout the 5-day venture. I was very glad we had them on a number of occasions. Thanks to Steve, Craig, Mark, Dana and Sparky for bringing them along! I was also surprised that my cell phone (Cingular) also performed well through out the five days.
Our first leg of the ride was from Simi to
Colton, it was an
all slab ride- when we get to Colton we stopped for gas and picked up
Joe on
his Harley. According to Joe (Springer Joe) he sat there in the gas
station as
we rode in wondering to himself, who are these people and what the heck
am I
doing riding 1500 miles with them? He had no regrets after the first
day.
